The Fine Print

Policies, in plain English.

The short, honest versions — no legal maze. Questions about any of it? Our contact email is in the footer.

This policy is available in multiple languages for your convenience. In the event of any conflict or ambiguity between translations, the English version is the official and binding version.

Privacy Policy

What we collect

Your name and email when you buy a ticket or contact us. Payment details are handled entirely by Stripe — YEV never sees or stores your card number. Your language preference is saved in your browser only (localStorage) and is never sent to our servers. If you create or RSVP to a free invitation, we also collect the name and email you enter there. If you reserve a spot at a fundraiser, we also collect the name and email you enter so the organizer can see and confirm your reservation.

How we use it

To deliver your ticket, contact you about the event you bought, process refunds, pay promoters — and, for invitations, to show the host who's coming and how to reach them — and, for fundraiser reservations, to show the organizer who reserved (name and email) so they can confirm you and your ticket can be delivered. That's it.

Who we share it with

Stripe (payments), Brevo (ticket email delivery), and an internal check-in record (event, tier, name, email) used solely for door entry on event night. Never sold. Never used for unrelated marketing without your separate consent.

Your rights

Email founders@yevent.app anytime to ask what we have on you or to request deletion — subject to records we're legally required to keep for tax or dispute purposes.

Children

YEV is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Refund & Return Policy

Last updated: July 5, 2026. This is the binding version of the refund policy referenced across the site.

Event cancelled or postponed by promoter: automatic full refund to all buyers. Stripe processing costs deducted from promoter's balance.

Buyer remorse / no-show: no refunds. Tickets are transferable — buyer can forward their ticket, and the original QR is invalidated on request.

Chargebacks: deducted from the promoter's payout; repeat chargeback events trigger a promoter review.

Tickets paid directly to the promoter (Zelle, Venmo, or cash): YEV issues the ticket, but the promoter — not YEV — received your payment. Refunds for these tickets come from the promoter directly, including if the event is cancelled or postponed. YEV never holds these funds.

Promoter Payouts

YEV settles promoter payouts in a single payment after an event concludes — a direct bank transfer within 24–48 hours of the event ending. This timing means your payout is money that has fully cleared — no refunds or chargebacks coming out of it later.

Every settlement comes with a per-event statement — what sold and how your payout was calculated — so the numbers are never a mystery.

Promoters based outside the United States are paid the same way — a single settlement after the event — sent as a tracked transfer in US dollars, within 5–7 business days after the event settles.

Promoters with three or more completed events on YEV may be eligible for a partial payout before an event, at YEV's discretion.
